Study and determination of fructan-type polysaccharide content in <i>Erigeron annuus</i> L

Abstract Fructan-type polysaccharidescomes from natural sources and occur in a large variety of plants, where they play important biological roles as reserve carbohydrate. One the most commonly distributed compound this group – inulin has been part human daily diet for hundreds years, it is found many fruits vegetables, among others, bananas, onions wheat. The inulin-type fructans: fructooligosaccharides (FOS) are considered to be functional food elements, consumption which brings about health benefits. Indeed, can consumed increase dietary fiber content. Fructan compounds, have strong bifidogenic effect, positive action on gut microbiota. In work, we preformed gas-chromatography-mass spectrometry analysis Erigeron annuus L. herb. GC-MS carbohydrate composition confirmed presence free (arabinose, glucose, fructose 1, 2) fermented 2, sucrose) carbohydrates at quantity 69.83 91.70 mg/g d.w., respectively.
